We offer Shared SMS Short Codes and Dedicated SMS Short Codes, also know as SMS Competition Lines or Numbers.
Example: SMS the word CRAWFIN to “45776” to enter our school competition. CRAWFIN is the Keyword, and 45776 is the Short Code.
Dedicated SMS Short Codes
With your own Dedicated Short Code, you can create multiple keywords running on the same Short Code that you are “renting.”
Each keyword with have its own SMS response, and forwarding capabilities to mobile, email, etc. Hence, you can have multiple competitions, surveys, etc. running on the same Short Code. Or, – you can select to have no keywords setup.
With a dedicated short code, a keyword is not required.
To view the incoming messages from your Short Codes/keywords combination simply click “Short Code – Incoming” from the menu.
Shared SMS Short Codes
With a Shared SMS Short Code you can create ONE or more Keywords. Each keyword that you create is linked to the shared short code.
To apply for a Shared Short Code with ONE keyword or more of your choice, login to your account and select “Keyword Application.”
You can also use the Short Codes for Feedback or Customer suggestions.
You can modify the properties of your responses for each keyword by clicking “Edit”.
To view the incoming messages from your Short Codes/keywords combination simply click “Short Code – Incoming” from the menu.
Replies – Forwarding Settings
- Forward Email – Forward the incoming message to an email address(s).
- Forward Mobile – Forward the incoming message to a mobile number.
- Response – Send an automated response eg: Thank you for entering the competition.
- Post URL – The shortcode can be posted to a URL of your choice.
Short Codes or Competition Numbers are available on Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, Virgin Mobile and Telkom Mobile.
